The speech team had an outstanding day on Saturday at the district speech contest. Of the 8 performance entries, all 8 of them earned a 1 rating and will advance to the state contest on March 15th. Henry Hingst and Dawson Clark advanced in spontaneous speaking, with Dawson also earning a 1 in radio news announcing. Moving onto state in solo musical theatre are Cade Storm and Elias Gerling-Morris. Cade also advanced in original oratory, along with Jocelyn Hernandez who will perform her public address at state contest as well. This marks the first time in the past decade that all Columbus individual event entries were able to earn a 1 rating at district contest advancing them to state competition! Congratulations Columbus speech team!
