We invite you to Wear orange on Thursday, August 29, to honor the memory of Robert Adams from the Van Buren County Community School District. Robert, a junior at Van Buren County, tragically lost his life in a motor vehicle accident on Sunday morning while driving to work. Although we may compete against the Warriors on the field, we join in mourning the loss of a student, friend, and family member. The Columbus Community School District extends our deepest condolences to Robert's family and all who knew him.

There will be no Junior High volleyball practice today, Tuesday August 27th due to a high school tournament.
Columbus Cross Country will practice at 6:30 AM Monday and Tuesday, August 26 & 27. This is due to the expected excessive heat and the safety of the runners.
JH Cross Country practice starts tomorrow Friday, August 23. JH Runners meet in Mr. Riley's room after school.

In order to participate, a physical and concussion form must be on record in the Columbus Secondary office. If you have any questions, please contact the school.

There will be a high school football parents meeting today Thursday, August 15th at 6:00pm in the practice gym.
Just a reminder that if you have not registered your student, please do so on Infinite Campus Parent Portal. If you need assistance, please come into the school office or call. School starts August 23, 2024.
Junior High Volleyball will start Friday, August 23rd following the first day of school. Practice will be from 3:40-5:15 every school day. There will be a full schedule handed out on the first day.
Junior high football will start Friday, August 23 after school. There will be a parents' meeting after practice at 5:10 pm by the high school office entrance on Tuesday, August 27. Please contact Mr. Dennler or Mr. Keltner with any questions. Thank you.

District Reminder of Family Week:
The Unified Activity Federation (Iowa High School Athletic Association, Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union, Iowa High School Music Association, and Iowa High School Speech Association) Non-Contact Period for the summer of 2024 will be Sunday, July 28, 2024, through Sunday, August 4, 2024. This is the third year of an annual break in activities across Iowa each summer.
During this time, there will be no activities in the Columbus Community School District to include camps, clinics, workouts, strength and conditioning, lessons, meetings, etc.
