Dear Roundy Elementary Faculty-Staff-and Families,
It is with great pleasure and enthusiasm that I introduce myself as the new principal of Roundy
Elementary School. I am honored to lead and serve a community that values high-quality
education and a supportive environment for every child. My goals are to support all the teachers
and support staff while continuing the positive things already in place. As your school leader I
will strive to build relationships with students-faculty-staff-and families as we continue
strengthen the school culture and climate. My wife Molly and I are eager to move to the
Columbus Junction area mid-Summer from Orange City, Iowa. She is a nurse and excited about
the new opportunities for her career.
Throughout my career as an educator and administrator I have served students in both urban
and rural settings from PK-12 for over two decades. My experiences in the classroom at the
elementary levels working in Iowa’s first computer programing elementary school full of
diversity showed me firsthand as an educator how collaboration, innovation, and technology can
help to differentiate instruction and provide opportunities for all students. I went to the
University of Northern Iowa and received my BA in Elementary Education, I earned a Master’s
Degree from Olivet Nazarene University in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum, and my
Administration from Dordt University. Throughout my career, I have been dedicated to building
relationships through effective communication, enhancing the quality of education for students,
teachers, and support staff, through implementing innovative instructional strategies, and
fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
You will often hear me refer to the "Triangle of Influence", the essential connection between
the School, the Student, and the Family. When all three sides work together, our students thrive.
I am committed to partnering with you to create the strongest possible community for your
children. I will be at Roundy Elementary School starting in July. I invite all of you to stop in and
share your thoughts-ideas-or to introduce yourself. I look forward to meeting and serving all of
you soon and starting this journey together.
Sincerely,
Steven Green
